Quick sketch

I have not been drawing as of late but I did build a pochade box. I think it turned out pretty decent. It will be used for watercolor and gouache, and as time go on I will make some modifications. I added a tripod mount if I decide to take my art on the road. If anyone has some ideas to make it better please share.

I have not posted or for that matter drawn anything for quite some time. So I am posting a photo of the gate I built for my deck. I'm happy with the way it turned out

I find it hard at times to stay motivated, if anybody has any tips please pass them along. This is the 1st sketch I have done since April. I am definitely in a funk and finding it difficult to break out. I follow a lot of talented people who draw, sketch and paint on a regular basis, how do you all do it?

I was just sketching faces and decided to turn one into an angry Charlie Brown.

I have no art to post at this time. I just want to take this opportunity to express my thoughts and prayers to those affected my the horrific tragedy at yesterday's Boston Marathon. My heart goes out to all in the city.

It has been a couple of months since i have posted anything, so I did a quick caricature. I don't know if anyone recognizes who it is, anyway it is Boston Bruins goalie Tuuka Rask.  Thanks for viewing!

A sketch before bed

So I have not posted anything for a while, but I have been working on a couple of things. I hope to post something new real soon. Here is another old one, found it going through some sketches.
On the drawing table now I have a color version of a previous sketch, also working on a large painting for our living room above the sofa. We have lived in this house for almost a year and do not have much on our walls yet. So I decided to paint something with lots of bright colors, see how that goes. Also been working on a portrait.

A Sunday A.M. Sketch

Wanted to do a little something, Sunday morning, before I went back to work today, after having 8 days off. I still have not committed myself to draw daily, but I am working on it.

A very quick rhinoceros sketch

I tried to do a cartoonish rhinoceros, feel pretty good about it. Right now I'm keeping things loose. I would love to post something new daily, so far that is 2 days. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

..and another self portrait

For lack of not knowing what do sketch last night, I did another self portrait. Being on vacation from my real job this week, I am going to find some inspiration besides from catching up on my home projects and yard work.

This sketch was done from a photo of a popular actor. Although it looks nothing like the actor, I think it is a very believable portrait.

The Head of Greedo

Flipping through an old sketchbook, I found this doodle of Greedo's head. When I was very young, Star Wars characters were my main subject of my drawings.

A quick Batman

This is just a quick, from memory sketch. I used pencil, gel pen and a couple of markers. At least the Red Sox walked away with a victory tonight.

An old, new idea.

This was a pastel idea I was working on 10 years ago. Just came across it recently, and was thinking of working on it again, maybe a large scale oil or acrylic.  I took the photos of these arctic wolves from a zoo in Moncton Ca and new I would be painting and drawing them.

Found one more. This one is a colored pencil done on Bristol board.

The vault is now empty.....

About 15 to 20 years ago, I had been studying under a local New Bedford artist. He gave me a series of photos to work from, some well known pictures he pulled from magazines i guess. These were all done for practice, but I these are all I have left. Now I need to finish some new projects.

This is an older self-potrait, done back in 2005.
