This sketch was done from a photo of a popular actor. Although it looks nothing like the actor, I think it is a very believable portrait.

Flipping through an old sketchbook, I found this doodle of Greedo's head. When I was very young, Star Wars characters were my main subject of my drawings.

A quick Batman

This is just a quick, from memory sketch. I used pencil, gel pen and a couple of markers. At least the Red Sox walked away with a victory tonight.

An old, new idea.

This was a pastel idea I was working on 10 years ago. Just came across it recently, and was thinking of working on it again, maybe a large scale oil or acrylic.  I took the photos of these arctic wolves from a zoo in Moncton Ca and new I would be painting and drawing them.

Found one more. This one is a colored pencil done on Bristol board.

About 15 to 20 years ago, I had been studying under a local New Bedford artist. He gave me a series of photos to work from, some well known pictures he pulled from magazines i guess. These were all done for practice, but I these are all I have left. Now I need to finish some new projects.

This is an older self-potrait, done back in 2005.

The top is a study for the Rhino painting, the tiger is the original pencil sketch and the middle is another pencil of my little guy Otis.

Another pastel from the vault...

This is something I was just able to scan in. I completed this back in the mid 90's, the moose image was taken from a magazine article.  I took photos with a 35mm camera to show some progression, I was really into pastels at that time. From doing this piece, I learned to use toned paper instead of toning a 16x20 gray board.

Something from an old sketchbook

The 1st six sketches were referenced from magazines and/or ads that I had come across, only done for the sake of drawing. The bottom sketch of the wolf is from my own photo. I have been doing a bit more drawing lately, but nothing I am comfortable posting. I have recently moved and most of my art supplies are still packed up. I am getting ready to unpack it all soon. It has been some time since I had a space to make any art.

2 20 minute caricature sketches...

The top one is "The King" Elvis, and the other is Red Sox left fielder... Carl Crawford.....I hope he has a better 2012.  Lately I have been fascinated with caricature drawings and paintings. I plan on doing a few more of these in the near future. I need much more practice at my drawing in general. Over the last couple of years my drawing has been put aside, but I really missed it.  Sorry for the bad photography, I do not own a scanner yet.

This is a pastel painting I did back in the early 90's. I did a couple more portraits back then. The reference photo came from the files of an artist I was studying under.
